We at Wildforest Sanctuary are opening the Full Moon Cabin to a solo practitioner for creative rejuvenation and mindful self-care in these complex times.

Nestled in a redwood forest, the Cabin was designed for bliss in solitude.

This is a retreat as residency and residency as retreat.

The time is yours and will be completely unstructured. You will be under no obligation to produce a product or work on a project, though we support your choice to do so independently.

Our residency is best for those seeking healing while nurturing self-contained, personal practice.

This is a call to detoxify, shedding the multiple layers of participation in the frenzied pace our modern life demands.

This is a way of slowly unclenching.

This is a chance to practice deep listening. 

To get to know that silence has many sounds. This is an embrace by the forest and all its inhabitants. A merging with the cycles of the moon and the rhythms of the weather …

Until one day, you get caught in the rain. Instead of rushing ahead you find yourself stopping, as if by accident.

You notice the way the droplets coat each tiny hair on your bare arms.

You begin to think about our residence on this planet as a temporary gift of grace. Something loaned to us for a short time.

And yet, the passing of these seconds feels eternal …

Full Moon cabin 

• The Full Moon Cabin has:

  • No electricity itself, creating a more peaceful, clean ambience and closer connection to nature. 

  • An excellent Verizon 4g connection! Bring your MiFi or turn on your hotspot if you’ve got it.

  • A wood burning stove for heat.

  • A double bed.

  • Towels, linens, and blankets.

  • A wash basin.

  • An indoor work table.

  • A private screened outdoor work area.

  • A private outdoor compost toilet and camping style kitchen.

  • A shared outdoor hot shower.

  • A shared washing machine and personal hanging clothesline.

  • Rechargeable lights.

  • A charging station in the barn.

Two week Retreat + Residency: $500

One month Retreat + Residency: $800

Longer opportunities possible: Cost to be discussed

*Cost includes access to fresh water from our on-site underground aquifer, chicken and duck eggs, goat dairy products, and seasonal produce from the garden.
